The Faculty Award is given annually to an outstanding Penn faculty member in recognition of not only their area of expertise, but their extraordinary compassion for teaching and relationships with students.

Named in honor of Friar Peter K. Riley ’59, a great athlete taken from us too soon, this annual award is given to the most outstanding Penn male athlete in the freshman class.     * Denotes those who eventually became a Friar

The Elizabeth R. Burdick Award was established in 1974 and is named for this beloved associate Professor of Physical Education. This award is given annually to the outstanding female athlete, usually a freshmen or sophomore.
