A huge congratulations to our very own, @_piasingh

A huge congratulations to our very own, @_piasingh, who was just awarded the 20th annual Nora Magid Mentorship Prize.

This award has been given each year since 2004 to a senior at the University of Pennsylvania who shows exceptional ability and promise in writing/reporting/editing, and who would benefit most from combined mentorship of Nora’s network of former students and their colleagues in traditional and new media. She follows in the footsteps of Friar alumna @rebtanwp who won the award in 2019.

As the year comes to an end we want to feature som

As the year comes to an end we want to feature some of the amazing accomplishments of our senior class!

1. Madison sang the national Anthem at the Phillies game this Monday and if you missed it no worries because she was chosen to sing it again at COMMENCEMENT

2. Kennedy was a basketball star including 2021-22 Ivy League Women’s BBall Academic All-Ivy, Ivy League Player of the Week (2/14/2022), the 2022 Eptin Tarr Award, and the 2022 Grit and Toughness Award

3. Yadel was the President of PIIC (Penn International Impact Consulting) which won the Best Small Club Award from Wharton. They implemented new feedback mechanisms, gave financial aid for trips for the first time, and got their very first corporate sponsor under her leadership.

4. Carmina was varsity women’s volleyball team captain where she finished third in digs per set in the Ivy League (4.78 digs/set) and recorded career high number of 29 digs in matches against Princeton and Yale

5. Seniors Nikhil and Samidha along with new members Aman and Nathan competed in the national Bollywood fusion dance circuit this season and placed at each competition leading up to Legends, the national championship!

7. Emma our fearless scribe got accepted to and will attend UCSF School of Dentistry!

8. Cassy directed and performed in Strictly Funk’s show Once Upon a Funktale. After dancing since the age of 2 years old and competitively since 6 she ended her dance career with her most ambitious project yet with the best team!

HUGE congratulations to Friars very own @max_strickberger @sam.strickberger on winning the 2022 President’s Engagement Prize!!

Seungkwon, Max, and Sam will build out College Green Ventures, an organization that aims to be a centralized hub for supporting student social entrepreneurs and creating more of them. They are mentored by Tyler Wry, Associate Professor of Management in the Wharton School.
